My idea was to sort of change my music, change my sound, and thats what I did with Raat, with Ajnabi, with Kadi Te Hans Bol; I continue to do so because I believe that an artist should definitely reinvent himself every now and then, otherwise it becomes very boring. It became very boring for me as well; I couldnt even enjoy myself performing certain numbers on stage, which is why I explored new opportunities and new music. Ajnabi was shot within two days, Atif said, adding, Its great when you have a good director on board. Asim (Raza) is brilliant at what he does.Does he plan on staying long in the UAE this time? We have a UK tour scheduled right after the Dubai gig. But Dubai is like this second home and not too many people know that I have lived there for quite some time four-five years of my life!
Who are some of the singers you have grown up admiring? Are there any contemporary ones you would like to collaborate with?
My favourite was Nazia Hassan but now in this time no other than Atif Aslam. Thats my dream to collaborate with him but unfortunately he collaborates very less with female singers. Besides him, Ali Zafar and Bilal Saeed. https://dailytimes.com.pk/899614/rising-star-emira-mir-ready-to-take-on-the-music-industry/
A few months ago you collaborated with Talal Qureshi and Atif Aslam on the sports anthem Cricket Khidaiye. As of this moment, it has almost 13 million views on YouTube. What was that experience like?
FS: It was beautiful. Ive been a fan of Atifs for a long time and I still am, deeply. You cant even put a science to him, hes just blessed. If you think otherwise thats your loss because everything he touches turns into gold. Weve been seeing that for 18 years and I also understand how tricky it is to be famous.
That famous? Where hes the favourite celeb of celebs. I really, really appreciate the front and the background of a situation like that. We made our entertainment debut at the same time as well through a theatre production of the Moulin Rouge when I was 15 years old and he was around 18-19 years old. https://www.dawn.com/news/1680925/the-icon-interview-the-notorious-faris-shafi
Terence Lewis continued, For example, there is Arijit Singh, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Atif Aslam, Khailash Kher, Daler paaji. I have heard them singing live. Ek, ek ghante na sur hilta ha, kya power ke saath gaate hai and no auto-tuning, nothing. So that is why for my song I said, Boss, I want it to be sung clearly properly, without any drama and clean singing. Toh woh koshish rahi hai. They have been very inspiring for me. https://www.koimoi.com/exclusives/shaidayee-terence-lewis-spills-the-beans-on-his-debut-song-reveals-which-singer-he-admires-the-most-for-me-they-are-like-goddess-sarawasti-exclusive/
When we contacted the 56-year-old, he said, Usually, I dont get trolled because Ive always been below the radar. I am a small player in the larger scheme of things, especially because I dont belong to Bollywood. I am a self-funded independent artiste, not backed by anyone, but the people of India. I dont think people really understood the essence of my post, because it had layers. I was hinting at many more things than endorsing Atif. My question was very basic: Do we really lack talent that there was so much influence from one musician on Bollywood? I think Atif did make a big impact, hence Bollywood forgot our own talent and everyone started following his way of singing/ making music.
He added, We, as Indians, give so many opportunities to everybody, but I dont think we get the same reciprocation from other countries. I dont mind getting trolled if the people eventually do understand my purpose and start asking the bigger questions. https://www.hindustantimes.com/entertainment/music/what-i-meant-was-not-understood-palash-on-being-trolled-over-atif-aslam-post-101662623688720.html
Zain and Barkha shared the screen for the first time and had spent days together shooting for the series. By the end of the shoot, the two got to know each other pretty well and shares each other's quirks with us. Talking about her first impression of Zain, Barkha said, "When I met him and first started talking to him on the set I was like okay, looks like Atif Aslam, talks like Fawad Khan. I could keep looking at him, and hear him talk. He is so wonderful when he talks. That is my first impression of Zain. Having said that, most of my scenes have been with Zain and I know a lot of things about him." https://www.mid-day.com/entertainment/web-series/article/looks-like-atif-aslam-talks-like-fawad-khan-barkha-bisht-on-first-impression-of-mukhbir-co-star-zain-khan-durrani-23257080
