wow.... what a movie. A very BOLD movie n a very brave choice by aadee.

I went on Friday with my sisters, from the moment aadee first came on the screen until the end you couldnt take your eyes off the screen and it wasnt because of aadee. It was a film where the whole cast do exceptional acting. Be it Zainab who portrayed her character beautifully and in whose role you can not imagine anyone else. She was simply SUPERB and her dialogues said with great conviction. I think Saifee was also brilliant...played with a lot of innocence and did really well considering he is so young. The father Hakim played his role to a T...you get into the film so much that you hate the guy. Ayesha made you smile and acted well in her role and aadee what can i say a small but definately significant role. He lights up the screen whenever he comes on and handles his role with care. Even though hes not there for long his role is very important.
Alls that i can say is that i am SO proud of Pakistan to come out with a movie of this calibre. I am so proud of the makers who have sensitivly made a movie about alot of the social taboos in the asian community. And last of all i am so proud of aadee for being a part of this movie, when he could have chosen any regular masala movie with a larger role, as this movie deals with real issues and maybe after seeing the movie even if 1 persons life gets better is worth it.

BOL-the review
The Voice of the Silent!
A showman Production

Starring: Humaima Malick, Iman Ali, Mahira Khan and Atif Aslam!
The Story :
It revolves around the family of Hakim Shafa’atullah who loses practice with advancements in medicine. His ultimate desire of a male heir leads him to a family of seven daughters and eventually a child Saifi who qualifies neither as a male nor a female. Humaima playing as Zainab, the eldest daughter is the voice of not just Hakim Shafa’atullah’s oppressed daughters, but of every browbeaten lady dwelling in the boundaries of the male dominant society. She is a constant target of Hakim Sahib’s wrath and anger.

Atif Aslam, playing Mustafa in the movie, is a middle class doctor aspiring to become a musician, a photographer by hobby and of course a social critic is the neighbour to this family of seven daughters. Mahira Khan playing as Ayesha finds interest in her next door neighbour and their mutual interest of music develops a passionate understanding between the two. In a movie of epic reality and shocking truth, the two bring a much needed breath of fresh air to screen with their mellow act.

As Saifi gets molested several times at a local bus adda, where he is taken to work as a truck artist by the very educated yet unaware-of-the-ambiance, Mustafa he is eventually asphyxiated to death by Hakim Sahib in fear of losing the respect that he owns in neighbourhood.

As the police finds about the murder and demands heavy bribe Hakim Sahib faces intense insolvency and pays off the bribe using charity money that he is asked to keep by the society union. Sooner Hakim Sahib realizes the gravity of the situation and as the charity union demands money, Hakim sahib finds himself encored deeper into destitution.

In the run of making both ends meet, Hakim Sahib finds himself nowhere but at the red light area married to the most coveted courtesan, Meena played by showman’s favourite Iman Ali where he is asked to lend his would be born daughter to Saaqa, (played well by veteran actor Shafqat Cheema) a pimp in the red light area in exchange of money.

It is too late when Hakim Sahib realizes the gravity of the situation and as he attempts to run with his daughter, is eventually caught, thrown out and threatened by the fierce Saaqa. However Meena finds the perfect father in Hakim Sahib for her pure daughter and smuggles the child at night to Hakim Sahib.
Hakim Sahib, the murderer of his child Saifi, retries the murder of this new born but fails as Zainab steps ahead consequently murdering her own father.

Does Zainab escape the murder of her father or does saaqa find the whereabouts of the missing born that he paid heavily for and does Ayesha succeed in establishing a life with Mustafa… BOL the movie is showing in cinemas near you… watch to find!

Crytical Analysis :
Of course the movie was by no means watertight and portrayed several Achilles' heel in the playwright, the most eminent ones being (a) the death sentence of Humaima that contradicts the law of government of Pakistan for female murderers and (b) The introduction of Saifi to a bunch of molesters by Mustafa an educated individual knowingly with belief that nothing would possibly go wrong!

However, showman once again brought to screen some serious and mind awakening subject that leaves the spectators shocked and their moral values a question mark. As close to reality as possible, Showman’s fresh flick “BOL” is all about the sacrifices of tolerance, literacy, humanity and other lynchpins to uphold an artificial yet morally supreme façade. As it claims, it really is bold enough to be credulous about the fact that one has actually seen it. BOL is truly a roller coaster of emotions and a must watch!

ohh i watched BOL today...:)

m going to record this date Sept. 4 2011

ohh n that reminds me it was the same date last yr when hona tha pyaar was leaked.....lolx

I loved the movie so muchh that i m writing this review n i havent even seated myself after cuming home....

CAST :........cast was amazing.....even the trivial characters were well played

SONGS:.......... aadee ka music  to qayamat dhata hi hai

overall dis movie has everything.....good storyline, good characterization, message was great n is conspicuous.....n i had goosebumps during the last dialogues of zainub

abhi iss se zyada samajh nahin araha coz i m completely obssessed wid the movie

the thing i liked the most about BOL was that the very first voice we get to hear after the theme song is of ATIF

there is a scene when shafqat cheema breaks into their house and they were arranging themselves n one of the sisters throws dupatta towards zainub....... i liked the details very much...

i would recommend everyone to watch it atleast once...

i saw it again today. For the first time, i went just to see Atif. But i was completely lost in the story, n today i went just to enjoy those scenes, which had Atif. . I loved it so much . . Atif. . N when i went for the first day show, hardly 10-15 ppl had come. N today, only 2-3 rows were empty. I was happy. But the main reason for it was that all the shows of bodyguard were housefull. I dont know why ppl go for it, even though it has got very less ratings. Anyways, i am proud that Atif chose such a film. I'm sure he wud be happy, coz all of his fans watched it. I went with some of my friends, who were not so interested in watching this film, but after watching it, they loved it. Anyways, so overall, the film was awesome, we loved Atif a lot, n we want to see more of him. We love u Atif. . All the best

Direction: Shoaib Mansoor is a legend unto himself, different from d league of Pakistani film-makers; he has brought the Pakistani Film Industry on the global front with films like “Khuda Kay Liye” and now “Bol”. Needless to say his direction in Bol leaves you stunned. He doesn’t preach or even sound a feminist at any stage instead he leaves a lot of imp. questions for the audience to ponder over. Whether it’s the subtle romance b/w Mustafa and the neighbourhood girl Ayesha or the climax, his direction keeps you riveted to the screen. And in spite of heavy tragedy right from the opening scene he leaves you with hope in the end.

Acting: Well the biggest X-factor of the film is without a doubt debutant Atif Aslam, even though his role is not full-length in the movie but he has succeeded in creating a strong impact right from his first scene with Zainub in jail. He potrays the innocence and aspirations of the 21st century youth without being too loud. The best part is Atif Aslam’s diction and an extremely natural way of acting. He seems at ease in front of the camera and full of confidence as a debutant. The story doesn’t have just one protagonist but its Humaima Mallik as Zainub who makes you sympathize with her agony and deep-seated frustration. Amr Kashmiri as Saifi steals your heart with his innocent acting and his plight turns you tears. Manzar Sehbai as Hakim Sahab isn’t a downright villain but in the end his death seems justified, because of his hyprocitical standards and heinous crimes. Mahira Khan as Ayesha is cute and her chemistry with Atif Aslam(as Mustafa ) is eye-candy for sure. The couple Mustafa and Ayesha gives some light moments aside from the tragedies for the audience to cherish.

Iman Ali as Meena, a prostitute though lends the glamour to her role but in some scenes she fails to create a impact through her acting, Shoaib should have raised the bar of her character a little more which I feel was  drawback.

Music: The soundtrack has 6 songs out of which “Hona tha Pyaar” with vocals by Atif Aslam and Hadiqa Kiyani is a really soft romantic number. “Kaho aj bol do” is again a rock-number by the same singers.Another track to listen to is “Din pareshan hai” by Sajjad Ali. Overall the music is fresh and keeps pace with the story-line. Each song tells a story about the characters on which it is filmed. The lyrics are a beautiful blend of Hindi-and Urdu poetry which are simple for a layman to understand.Atif Aslam’s vocals are definitely a high point for the soundtrack.Especially his Vocals for “Hona Tha Pyaar” are quite different from the league prevalent in the industry these days.

Must Watch Out scenes:

Zainub and her Father’s confrontation after Saifi’s death.

Mustafa’s persuasion to Zainub in the opening scene.

Saifi’s interaction with Zainub.

All scenes between Aisha and Mustafa.

High points:

Manzar Sehbai’s hatred for his child Saifi, and Saifi’s constant yearning of love from his Father’s side.

Meena’s reaction after seeing her daughter well and happy, totally unlike her.

Saifi’s shame at constantly facing molestation since childhood and his hair-raising humiliation in the end.

Zainub’s guts to stand and speak up before the whole media about her plight.

Zainub and Saifi’s respective definitions of a real man, with Zainab citing Mustafa as a real man.

Tip: Must watch for everyone to learn to speak up against injustice.!

Well , I don't have words kese tarif karu iss movie ki '

Movie Start Hi 'AADEE' bro. se hoti hai that was what i was looking for.......muje bada maza aaye shru me hi Aadee ko dekh kar......  bada aacha laga...Fir jis tarah sab kuch directed hai it's just Amazing   ...and the Role of mahira khan and Humaima  are just superb  ...koi imagine nahi kar sakta ke 'AADEE' , mahira and Humaima ka first movie hai........   And loved  ke 'AADEE'  bro bar bar movie me "ASSALAMU-ALAIKUM"  bolte hai. bada aacha lagata hai unke Zubaan me ... wish â˜ª ALLAH â˜ª  unhe Khusiya ka Ambaar de. AAMEEN

Aadee ke dialogues bahut aache hai iss movie me jese me thode hi mention kar raha hun yaha...

âž² "Khuda ke Liye Abhi bhi Maan jaye .Chod de aapni zeed."

"Hamare mohsre me bahut sari buraiya sirf isiliye khatam nahi ho rahi kyon ki hum bolte nahi"......{ loving this words more .

"Aur imagine kare agar kahi Hazar do Hazar gar badal gaye to kitani badi achievement hogi."
Itna vada dialoge likha so sorry but ye
AADEE ka dialogue hame bahut kuch sikha deta hai   ..There is huge message in it... Hame BOLna chahiye...
ye dialogue full likhne ke  baad ab me short kar raha hun

➤  My favorite ones  ..

âž®    To thik hai iss pagal ne soch li hai ye baat   "Me Tumhe Leke Jaunga "Wink

âž®       "Wo Mene Soch Lia Hai "Ek jagah hai meri nazar me  "

âž®              Ustad ji yahan ke maahol ke wagah se me   iss bachche ko yaha lana to nahi chah raha tha lekin isko drawing ilawa kuch aata nahi  muje majburan lana pada Aapne bada khayal karna hai iska

Over all BOL is Awesome movie ... Hakeem chacha kabhi kabhi hasa dete the ...LOLhe he he.    Movie ka har part kuch na kuch sikh deta hai hame.. We should learn from it... Movie Bold hai so me kuch aur likhana chahte hue bhi nahi likh raha....... but movie is really massive..It contains lots of messages .. Ek to Indi-pakistan ki cricket match ka hai hum pata nahi itni serious kyon lete hai iss match ko.. jo Humaima bayan karti hai it really  greatest message to all of us

Hakeem chacha ko Role bahut hasi lata i mean jese wo bolte  movie me The way of his talking... -Hara diya na kambakhato DIL se DUA nikalti to kabool hoti na .LOL Funny part waha hai jab Hakeem chacha ko chadhry ji salary dete hai wo rupees ko shop se dhote hai and ironing bhi .karte hai ..he he heLOL chadhry ji character to likhane jesa hai nahi but bahut funny hai unka Role
Finally .movie ka last part jab Hakeem chacha ki death ho jati hai uske baad kinne sukhi ho jate sab log.LOL.   Jese kaash Ye kaam Humaima ne kuch pehle hi kar diya hota to sab pehle se hi rich ho jate.. LOL
 jokes apart ...

@Junaid Sir..  Saw BOL..it is very hard-hitting..and beautifully made.. i loved each n every shot of the film.Shoaib jji ki last film Khuda Key Liye bhi mujhe itni acchi lagi thi..it was too good..Bol has a different subject..me sure..bollywood can't make such a film or can try to think of in such time where munnies n sheilas have bcome a trademark..Without any type of "masala" itne cntrovercial subjects ko leke film banai hai..and the best thing is ki the muvie had "stability" Bht aaram se clearly ek ek cheez ko dikhaya gaya hai..
3 days have already been passed...bt i am still.. in kind of the film.. :-)
Very emotional,heart-touching...made us to think..think..think and again think...

It has made and set aparted other"be sir-pair" movies from  the top class category..
Why don't let it nominate it for Oscars..!!?? me sure it will win there.. :-) :-)

Heartly wishing that everyone in the country must go to watch it..for sure...
Once the Bodyguard euphoria subsides...it will soon rock the cinemas here in India too..!! SmileSmile
